Safety and governance

How risk, safeguarding, clinical judgement and data protection work on ReHabituation.

Not an emergency service

The patient sites say so, with the numbers to call for help now: 999 (112 in Ireland) and Samaritans free on 116 123.

If someone is at risk

Requests are not screened for risk before they reach you, and they carry no name or contact details. Assess suitability and risk as you usually would, and ask a question first or decline if you need to. The workspace tells you on every request to follow your usual safeguarding steps and call 999 (112 in Ireland) if someone is at immediate risk. Email any safety concern to safety@rephobia.com, which is not watched around the clock.

Your clinical judgement

You decide on and provide the treatment as an independent professional. The workspace makes no treatment decisions.

Data protection

Rephobia Limited is the data controller under the UK GDPR, and the EU GDPR for people in Ireland. People give explicit consent before their request reaches you. The workspace holds health information, such as requests, agreed treatment plans and appointment records, on Rephobia's own server in the UK, and keeps no clinical notes.

If no therapist can take a request

A coordinator helps the person look at other options.

Questions therapists ask

How is data handled?

Rephobia Limited is the data controller under the UK GDPR, and the EU GDPR for people in Ireland. You see the person's request summary, region and rough availability, and their contact details are held separately. The workspace keeps requests, your questions and offers, appointments and attendance, the treatment plans people agree and the reflections they write after a session. It keeps no clinical notes, and no information about the person is sent to a generative AI model. You keep your own clinical records outside the workspace, under your professional obligations.

Can I stop at any time?

Yes. Pause new requests whenever you need to, and booked appointments stay in place. To leave altogether, email us and we close your account.

What evidence is this based on?

The research page lists published guidance and studies on exposure treatment, including delivery by video, and says what Rephobia's own research has looked at. None of it describes ReHabituation's results.
